Originally I wanted the title for this blog to be 50 States in 50 Weeks, but that domain name was already taken. I’m glad it was taken though, because it made me realized 50 States in 50 Weeks would limit the blog to just one trip, so I decided to go with something else.
It was extremely frustrating trying to come up with a domain name that was available. I spent days trying to come up with something fun and “me” that could serve as a platform for all my travels. Finally, AlwaysBwandering.com was available and I got really excited. I loved how you could interpret it differently – from the directive to the reader to always be wandering, to the statement about me, B, always wandering. If that wasn’t enough of a sign, I looked at the domain name again and saw BSWAN, which is a nickname I got when I lived in Arkansas. The B and the S are actually switched in the domain name, but if you look at it you can still see BSwan, at least I do. You probably know I spell my name B-r-i-t-t-a-n-y and you might know that my middle name is Ann after my grandmother Nancy Ann. What you might not know, is that if you take the B-r-i-t off of the beginning of my name and add the A from my middle name it spells Tanya, which is my mom’s name. Cool huh? Because of this, I took seeing my nickname in the domain name to be an omen.
As you might have guessed if you’ve read my About Me section and taken my advice and read The Alchemist, I believe it is important to follow the omens when following one’s Personal Legend. So, when I found a domain name that could have multiple interpretations AND contained an inversion of one of my nicknames I followed the omens and AlwaysBwandering.com became my blog.
