IOWA MUST-SEES/MUST-DOS:

The library inside the Iowa State Capitol. It’s breathtaking.

The Des Moines Art Center. It’s free, and has such an awesome permanent collection and usually a good rotating exhibit as well.

The Sculpture Park downtown is pretty fun and also free.

East Village, lots of fun shops and things.

While in the East Village you MUST go check out Raygun the t-shirt/funny saying store. So freaking awesome.

IOWA THINGS TO SKIP IF YOU’RE CRUNCHED FOR TIME:

Iowa City…I had fun, totally, but if you can only go one place, go to Des Moines.

Amana Colonies. Also fun, but again, out of the way and if you’re crunched for time stick to Des Moines.
