    *I set the odometer en route to Rhode Island from Massachusetts and stopped it before I left for     Connecticut.

Since I didn’t stay in Rhode Island a whole week I feel like I should adjust the budget accordingly. So, here’s the budget both ways and (less the car maintenance, because routine maintenance isn’t budgeted in the weekly amounts):
    Total over budget using a week’s budget: $14.46 (under: $142.62)
    Total over budget using just the days in Rhode Island: $128.75 (under: $28.33)

Total nights spent with people I already knew: 0
